VBA has announced that the class of Domestic Builder-Manager will no longer exist as of July 2022.
This means that those holding registration as a Domestic Builder-Manager need to be transitioning their registration to an alternative class now.
If you are registered as a Domestic Builder-Manager and do not take any action to register in a new category and class with the VBA, you will no longer be registered after 30 June 2022.
In order to access your Domestic Building Insurance facility, we need to provide details of your alternative builders registration category and class to the VMIA.
What do you need to do?
If you currently maintain the class of Domestic Builder-Manager you should be:
- Applying for or preparing to apply for registration in an alternative category and class without delay; and
- Not entering into contracts for domestic building work which you may not be able to complete well in advance of 30 June 2022.
Once you have obtained an alternative category and class please let us know and we will notify the VMIA on your behalf.
